Walnut Frosties

Yield: 30 Cookies

I use these cookies in the christmas presents that i make for my co-workers and friends -peggy.

1/2 Cup Butter

1 Teaspoon Baking Soda

1 1/2 Cup Dark Brown Sugar

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

1 Egg, Beaten

1 Cup Walnuts, Finely Chopped

1 Teaspoon Vanilla

1/4 Cup Sour Cream

2 1/4 Cup Flour

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease 2 large cookie sheets.
In a small bowl combine the walnuts, sour cream, and 1/2 cup brown sugar.
Mix well and set aside. This is the walnut filling.

In a large mixing bowl, mix at medium speed the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg and vanilla until well mixed.
Add flour, baking soda, and salt.
Beat at low speed until mixed, scraping bowl occasionally.
Dough will be crumbly. Form dough into walnut sized rounds.
Place dough on a lightly greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.
Press dough down and use your thumb to create a small indentation.
Pour a level teaspoon of walnut filling into the indentation of each cookie.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Let cool on pan for a few minutes before removing to a wire rack to finish cooling.
